New Year Preparation

Way back in the Philippines, I’m pretty sure that my sisters have taken much effort to prepare for the New Year celebration. Just like before, when I was till with them, we would always start planning for our New Year’s celebration the day after Christmas. We would plan what dishes to prepare and we would buy gifts for all family members for another round of exchanging gifts. I am even the one who’s in-charge with choosing the fireworks that we would buy to welcome the New Year. Oh, how I missed those fun times…

A Treat for Myself

After cleaning up the whole house, I thought of taking a rest; a rest that did not mean its usual meaning but, a rest of having a day for me. A rest that I personally define as treating one’s self for having a job well-done. And I think I have done my best to be a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and lastly, a good citizen. So what I did is I left the kids with my husband, for them to have a bonding time and I went to the beauty parlor and I treated myself with a hair gloss treatment. It’s my way of rewarding my self because I simply deserve it!

Day After Christmas

Last December 26, the day after Christmas, it was so boring and I don’t know what to do. I tried to cheer myself up by watching DVD’s with my kid but I didn’t have fun with the cartoon that they are watching. So what I did is I looked for a feather duster and started wiping off the dusts that I could find in the house. Surprisingly, I enjoyed what I did and I didn’t even noticed that time had already passed by. At the end of the day, I ended up cleaning the whole house.

A Very Long Holiday

I have two sisters who are working as a government employees in the Philippines. We chatted the day after December 25, and I was surprised to know that they are enjoying a long holiday—I mean, a very long holiday. Just imagine, from December 25 until on the fourth of January, they will enjoy more than a week-long vacation. So what they did is that they used up their remaining leave credits on the twenty-fourth so that they could still have a day to travel and spend Christmas with our dad in our farm in Bukidnon. It’s just so unfortunate that I won’t be there to celebrate Christmas and New Year with them.

Critical Stage

As a mother two pretty kids, I have undergone the most critical and tiring part of rearing a child. And I was able to go through it, not just once, but TWICE!! I could say that the most difficult part of rearing a child is during their first year. You know, when your child starts to walk and tries to climb a step or two of the stairs and every now and then, when they want something from you, they end up screaming because they don’t know how to talk! I just can’t imagine how did I go through and survived this stage; but no regrets because I really had fun rearing up my daughters.
