My Gifts
Published on February 16th, 2009.
I would like to thank my relatives and friends who are very generous and thoughtful because they bothered to spend time and money to give me the gifts that they have given me. I received cologne from my aunt and a vanity bag from my other aunt, a hairbrush from a cousin and a non-stick kitchen tool from my brother. I know these things doesn’t cost that much but the effort and time that they’ve spent worth’s’ more than the cost of these things. And I really, really appreciate it. I just don’t know how to thank all of you guys!

Top 10 Dishes
Published on February 14th, 2009.
I was born in a family who loves food—good and delicious food. That’s why; we always have these top ten dishes that we serve during our family gathering every December, and usually, during Christmas Eve. For the top 10 to 7, we have desserts namely: Fruit Salad, Mango Float, Chocolate Crinkles and Cakes. Chicken macaroni salad comes at the 6th spot while meatball spaghetti ranks at number five. For the fourth spot, the goat meat stew should never be missed. And lastly for the top three, keso de bola (Edam cheese ball) ranks third, Ham ranks second and the star of the night would be everyone’s favourite, the Lechon (Roast Suckling Pig). Without these dishes, our Christmas feast will never be complete.

The Accident
Published on February 10th, 2009.
Wham! A ten-wheeler truck hit my 7-year old playmate and when I found her, she lay on the street lifeless. All I could do was stare at the body from my uncle’s house. My Father saw me standing and asked me what’s wrong, but I was too numb to speak.
As I stared at the body of my playmate, her Mother, wearing curlers and her duster, and Father, without his slippers, cried. I was 9 years old then.
Now I’m 32, but I can still see it all happen so clearly in my mind. That accident taught me that I don’t own my life.
