Published on March 25th, 2009.
Sunlight is often the best source of vitamin D but we can also get it from salmon, tuna and fortified foods like milk and orange juice. Getting this vitamin is important to our bones as well as other parts of the body. Having an adequate amount of this vitamin will reduce the risk of being fractured and will help us maintain the strength of our muscle. It may also protect our heart, reduce the risk of diabetes, lower the odd of having cancer and help in the development of the brain. No wonder that vitamin D is making headlines by being the vitamin of the year.
