Focus on the Essential
Published on April 30th, 2009.
Jay, my classmate in college is now the head of an organization. He wants to lead by creating a positive image of his organization for his industry partners. Unfortunately, Jay has a tendency to do micro-management in all sectors of his company and ends up dictating decisions that his mid-level administrators should be doing.
But whenever a course of action does not go the way he wants it, Jay blames everyone except himself. Soon enough, his subordinates began to feel a sense of incompetence and their morale started to deteriorate. Jay eventually lost his influence over his people and their commitment as well.
Why? Because Jay lost focus of what was essential: His leadership.

This Kimono square neck top has always been fashionable since the advent of sexy tops in the midst of the nineties. But with some innovation and changes in the materials used, this top became more sexy than ever. With shaping bust pleats and pretty cap sleeves anyone who’s going to wear it would really look oozing and drop-dead gorgeous! It is made with a soft supplex/spandex blend material which makes it comfortable to wear and soft to the skin. The material used also makes this top semi fitted; shaped fit that skims the body.

Ramen Cabbage Salad
Published on April 26th, 2009.
Oh, you’ve got to try this one. I found this recipe while I was browsing the internet yesterday. Here are the ingredients needed:
• 1/3 cup slivered or sliced almonds
• 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
• 6 cups shredded cabbage
• 4 green onions, finely chopped (white portion and half of green)
• 1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 package Ramen Noodle Soup
Dressing:
• 3 tablespoons honey
• Ramen seasoning packet
• 2 tablespoons apple juice
• 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
• 1 tablespoons sesame oil
Toast sesame seeds and almonds separately by laying them in a single layer of a pan and broiling carefully until lightly brown. Set both aside. Put cabbage, almonds, sesame seeds, onions and beans in serving bowl. Add Ramen noodles after crumbling them into small pieces with your hands.
After that mix the dressing ingredients well with wire whisk in small bowl. Drizzle over the cabbage mixture and toss. (Make sure you mix dressing just before tossing with salad ingredients.)

Salmon Burger
Published on April 24th, 2009.

The secret to this sandwich is that the fish must be absolutely fresh.
• 12 ounces salmon fillet, skin removed
• 1 shallot, chopped
• 2 egg whites
• ¼ red pepper, finely chopped
• ¼ green pepper, finely chopped
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 2 tablespoons fresh bread crumbs
• Nonfat cooking spray
• 2 kaiser rolls, sliced in half
• 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
• 4 arugula leaves, well washed and dried
• 2 slices ripe tomato
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
On a clean chopping board with a very sharp knife, dice the salmon very fine. Place in a medium-sized bowl with the shallot. In a small bowl, whisk the egg whites until frothy. Combine with the fish, shallots, diced pepper, and salt and pepper to taste. Gently fold in the bread crumbs and form into two patties. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Spray both sides of the patties with cooking spray and cook 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Toast the rolls and spread the mustard on both sides. On the bottom half of the roll, mound the arugula and tomatoes and place the cooked burger on top. Sprinkle with dill, close the roll, and enjoy.

Yam (ube) has a substance PhilRootcrops Protein (PRP-1) which shows potentials as a cure for hypertension. PRP-1 can be purified from cooked yam tubers and was not allergenic so it can be administered safely without worrying that it may have allergic effects. This natural protein can be produced and is readily available particularly in developing countries. It can be eaten in many forms such as the Ube Jam which tastes really good.
