They Never Will

A cab driver finds a wallet in his cab with P5,000 in it. He sees an ID but pockets the money anyway. Who cares? No one will know.
Your child asks why her dad passes out on the couch every night when he gets home. You tell her it’s because he’s tired from work instead of being honest about his drinking problem. Anyway, she’ll never know.
Your nephew is left in your care. He won’t go to sleep and so you spank him till he cries himself to exhaustion. Your brother will never know.

The Less Fortunate Ones

Her take home pay was P7,000 a month, and she had four children. I was receiving P28,000 more than she and was single and that time… but not a single peso ever touched my savings account. Who do you think was more inspiring? Hands down, she was the winner.
There are many simple and humble heroes in our society that we do not notice. Just because they are janitors or our cleaning ladies, we do not pay attention to their stories. But I’ve learned that these are the people who deserve the accolade and praise. Despite their hardships, they know how to cope and make do with what they have.

Handicapped Creature

Douglas is our house pet, a jittery hyperactive purebred Shitzu with a multicolored Collie coat, flat snout and soulful brown eyes. He is a handicapped dog. He was a rejected dog. Nobody wanted to buy him from the breeders. He couldn’t stand erect like other dogs. Because of his disability he knows he can get away with certain behaviors. He stays inside the house unlike our other pets.

Foolish Pride

While on a car trip, an elderly couple stopped at a restaurant for lunch. When they left, the woman forgot her glasses on the table.
She realized she was missing it only when they were a few miles away. As they drove back, her husband grumbled, complained, scolded his wife, called her bobo and told her, “You can’t do anything right!” He decried how they wasted a lot of time, effort and gas to get back to the restaurant.
When they finally arrived, the woman got out of the car to get her glasses.
But all of a sudden, the old man called her back and said sheepishly, ‘While you’re in there, you may as well get my wallet, too.”
