Over and Over Again

My friends Joan and Pet met when they were in high school. He courted her and they became sweethearts. They had an off-and-on relationship up to their college days—mainly because Pet couldn’t resist the attention of the girls in the campus. He went on dates with one girl until Joan would find out. He’d stop dating the girl. Then, after a month or two would again date another girl until Joan would find out about it again.

Parenting

I wanted to be a smart parent so I read just about every book on parenting I could my hands on. One day, I was at home reading the book The Obedient Child by Ken Wilson. I was on the chapter discussing how to correct your child when he is whining.
The book says first, you have to teach your child the meaning of whining. You must catch him whining and point out the behavior. Say something like: “Stop whining. Don’t use that tone of voice with me. That’s whining,”

A Reason to Thank for Blessings

The trip to Bohol was one vacation I will never forget. The perfectly sculpted Chocolate hills. The amazingly cute Tarsiers. The spectacular caves. The powdery white sand and waters so pristine.
That trip taught me how to count and recognize my blessings no matter how small they are. Small blessings put together make a big blessing! You can do that too. You can start by listing down all the blessings you are enjoying against all the trials that you are going through. You will find out that the blessings far outnumber the trials.

Emotional and Financial Drain

My cousin, Albert have a heart ailment—mitral valve prolapse, the doctors call it. In plain English, there is a leak in the left valve of his heart which results in irregular heart beat. He suffered his first attack in 1982 and he was hospitalized.
At the time their savings in the bank was a measly P16,000. He and his wife Amy worried no end as their bills piled up, amounting to P60,000 on just the third day.

Ginger Supplements Help Curb Nausea

Cancer victims often experience vomiting during chemotheraphy. Study shows that ginger food supplements help reduce nausea when taken together with traditional anti-nausea medicines during the first treatment. However, it is noted that patients who took the supplement in very low doses have greater relief than those who have high doses. So therefore, it is concluded that taking much ginger in just one time is not necessarily better than gradual but small amount.
