Emotional and Financial Drain

My cousin, Albert have a heart ailment—mitral valve prolapse, the doctors call it. In plain English, there is a leak in the left valve of his heart which results in irregular heart beat. He suffered his first attack in 1982 and he was hospitalized.

At the time their savings in the bank was a measly P16,000. He and his wife Amy worried no end as their bills piled up, amounting to P60,000 on just the third day.

That is amazing what one trip to the hospital can do to you. All your measly savings gone in days.
